LENT & EASTER

• L'ISTESSO FAMILY ENSEMBLE: L'istesso = the same  Ensemble= together; at the same time
  • • This is an entry-level ensemble- no skills or experience necessary!  This ensemble sings at the 5:00 Mass the 4th Saturday of the month (Summers off).
    • This ensemble will learn 4 hymns per Mass, with an assigned cantor to sing the Gloria, psalm, Gospel Acc, and Mass parts. 
    • We will be singing at:  1) Palm Sunday at the 5:00 Mass on Saturday, 3/23  2) Procession after 7:30 Mass on Thursday, 3/28  3) 5th Sunday of Easter at 5:00 on 4/27  4) Holy Trinity at 5:00 on 5/25
    • Rehearsals are THURSDAYS at 7:15pm in the church: 3/14, 3/21, 4/25, 5/16, 5/23 
  • L'istesso Family Ensemble is the perfect opportunity to practice singing or try it for the first time. This group sings in unison- there are no harmonies to learn or practice.  PERFECT FOR BEGINNERS or the casual singer!

• SONORO ADULT CHORALE:  Sonoro = with full sound  Chorale= Harmonized version of a simple/familiar tune  
  • • This is an entry-level chorale- hymns will include 2-4 part harmonies. 
    • We will be singing at: 1) Procession after 7:30 Mass on Thursday, 3/28  2) Good Friday Passion at 3:00pm 3/29  3) Easter Vigil at 8:00pm 3/30  4) Pentecost at 10:00am 5/19
    • Rehearsals are TUESDAYS at 7:15pm in the church: 3/5, 3/12 @ 6pm, 3/19, 3/26, 5/7, 5/14 
  • The Sonoro Chorale is the perfect group for the experienced choir member.  You don't need to be a perfect singer or read music,  but this group comes with the expectation of light practice at home to be confident in your part- it may be different than the person next to you!  Just 10 minutes of practice or listening 3x/week at home is all you'll need. 
    • ARE YOU A BEGINNER, LOOKING TO GROW YOUR VOICE?  This is still the group for you!  Every chorale has a melodic line, and you may always volunteer to sing the familiar melody instead of learning a new harmony.  What a great way to practice singing and become more confident in your own voice!
  • This group is for adults age 18 and older. 

1. How do I know which group is right for me?
   1. If you enjoy learning the harmonies and becoming familiar with your line at home, Sonoro is likely the best fit for you.
   2. If you don't want to sing at home and are looking for a casual run through of weekly hymns, L'istesso is likely best for you.
2. Can I sing in both groups?
   1. ABSOLUTELY!  You're welcome to participate as much or as little as you want.  You are at no time committed for the year, however please try to attend the relevant rehearsals leading up to each Mass you wish to sing. 
3. If I can't make rehearsal on Tues/Thurs one week, can I come the other day to learn the hymns?
   1. No- each rehearsal will focus on that group's hymns.
